Moving by Faith, Singing with Purpose: For France Leblanc, music didn’t begin in a studio, it began with family.
Raised in the church with both parents as pastors, France grew up surrounded by song. Choir practice, worship services, and singing alongside his brother became his early foundation. He was often front and center, leading vocals, not just learning to perform but to feel. That sacred energy would follow him far beyond the pews.
Getting into the music industry didn’t come easily. France didn’t have connections, a team, or access. But he did have faith. So he left Philadelphia for Los Angeles, trusting that God would make a way. He’d sneak into music events, quietly passing around his demos. Nothing happened overnight. But doors slowly cracked open especially after his brother, Friday, found success and brought him into writing sessions and studios. From there, other artists began inviting him in, seeing his talent and spirit. The momentum grew, but the foundation stayed the same: gratitude, grind, and God.
France fell in love with writing during a deeply personal moment. After being cut from his high school basketball team, he started freestyling on the way home, putting his frustration and emotions into melody. That one moment of pain revealed his deeper purpose. Music became the space where he could express himself, loneliness, faith, and joy.
His process is rooted in creating the right energy. He believes the tone you bring into the studio shapes the sound you leave with. “You gotta go in with great faith and great expectation,” he says. Whether he’s writing about love, loss, or spiritual resilience, authenticity is at the center. You can hear it in his tone his voice doesn’t sound like anyone else’s because it’s his truth.
His biggest challenge has been navigating balance: when to work a job and when to go all-in on the music. But even in seasons of struggle, he’s seen signs that he’s on the right path. One of the most affirming moments was when he was recognized by successful people in the industry, people doing far better than him at the time who still saw him as an artist with something real to offer. It showed him that talent will always make room for itself.
France doesn’t have any official collaborations out yet, but he’s open to it. His EP, Bittersweet, is on the way, and his new single “Running Deep” drops this month of July. Looking ahead, he sees it all: the virality, the tour, the growth. His dream collaborators include Frank Ocean, Beyoncé, Drake, and Chris Brown artists known for emotional storytelling and sonic excellence.
One thing that might surprise people about France is his deep faith in Christianity.
His advice to artists?
“Believe in yourself, and know that God believes in you and even if no one else believes in you, that’s around you. The fact that God believes in you is enough for you to run with the faith and the dream that you had. “
What he’s learned most on this journey is patience. Not just with the process, but with the art itself. Because real growth takes time. And when it comes to France Leblanc, music isn’t just a career, it’s more of a calling.
